Poetry night for church
ST Cuthbert’s Church in Darwen will host ‘an evening with the bard’ on Monday, May 12, when award-winning Darwen dialect poet Jim Atherton performs readings of his poetry. The event is at 7.30pm and tickets, which include tea and biscuits, cost £2. Proceeds will go towards the appeal to replace the church’s east window.
