Water cut off
RESIDENTS in Bacup were left without water, or a poor supply, for nine hours on Tuesday. United Utilities received reports of customers experiencing problems because of a leak in Newchurch Road shortly after 3.15pm. Fernhill Crescent was also affected.
A spokesman said water began flowing again just after midnight yesterday, after engineers plugged the leak.
