THE annual meeting of the Friends of Darwen Cemetery takes place next Wednesday at Darwen Aldridge Community Academy, starting at 7pm.
Secretary Peter Van Dijk said: “Please come to listen to what the Friends have achieved during 2013 and to hear about plans for 2014.
“This is your opportunity to ask questions and make your own suggestions about what the management committee should be planning for the future.”
The treasurer will present the financial report for 2013 and there will be an election of trustees.
All existing trustees, John East (chairman), Steve Davies (president), Diane Walsh (treasurer), Diane Davies, Mick Walsh, Patrick O’Reilly, Jill Marr, Paul Dargan and Tony Foster will stand again, while nominations have been received for Peter van Dijk (secretary) and Colin Briggs.
The group is allowed up to 12 trustees so anyone wishing to stand can contact Mr Van Dijk at secretary@darwen cemetery.org.uk Tea and coffee will be provided.
