NHS chiefs for Hyndburn are looking at plans to target frequent users of primary and emergency care services, to reduce unneccessary appointments and admissions.
A business case for £53,000 worth of unallocated funding is being developed, following a suggestion from diabetes specialists in the borough.
Meanwhile, the Hyndburn Nurse Forum is currently looking at the training and education needs of nurses who work in GP practices. A new framework could then be adapted for other primary care staff.
