VOLUNTEERS from Haslingden Civic Pride cleared 19 bags of litter from the town’s streets on Sunday, including fluorescent tube lights, sand bags and a metal easel.
Coun Granville Morris and Colette Butler, Tesco’s community champion, joined the nine Civic Pride members for the litter pick.
A spokeswoman for the group said: “Thanks to everyone who came along.”
The group has rid the town of 131 bin liners of rubbish so far this year, and collected 706 in total last year.
