MEMBERS of East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust have been invited to a free event on the management of suspicious neck and thyroid lumps.
Ear, nose and throat consultant, Mr Antonio Belloso, will be speaking at two events on the subject.
A nodule is a swelling or lump, which can be a solid or liquid filled cyst or mass. Most are benign, but a small percentage can be cancerous. Up to one in 15 women and one in 50 men has a thyroid nodule.
The first event is in seminar room 4 at the Royal Blackburn Hospital, from 2pm to 3.30pm on Friday. The second will be in the Mackenzie Lecture Theatre at Burnley General Hospital on March 14, at 2pm.
Call the trust’s membership office on 01254 733521 or email membership@elht.nhs.uk to book a place.
