THERE were 125 entries in a competition launched by St Barnabas’ Primary School to design a new cross for the school hall. The winning design will be made using wood from the spare church pews at St Barnabas’ Church.

The designs were submitted after the school set a family homework task to all of the pupils, who were helped at home by their mums and dads. Headteacher Alison Haworth said: “We were overwhelmed by your amazing response to the family homework to design a new cross for our school hall.

“Every one of the 125 entries is unique, and we would like to say a huge thankyou to all the children, and families, for the time, and thought, that you have put into your drawings.”
