A TOURING exhibition showcasing maths is to open in Clitheroe on Saturday.
The exhibition, called ‘Beauty is the First Test’, features textiles, sculptures and drawings that reveal how craft techniques such as knotting, interlacing and stitching, are guided by mathematical theories.
The exhibition’s curator, UK craft and textiles specialist Liz Cooper, will be on hand from noon to 2pm to discuss The Platform Gallery-based exhibition and answer questions.
Gallery supervisor Dominique Dunand-Clarke said: “The exhibition draws together existing and new art works to invite an in-depth consideration of mathematics and art. Beauty and playfulness will be evident in the exhibits to illustrate what delights craftspeople and maths geeks alike.”
The exhibition will run until April 19.
