BEAVERS worked hard to stay silent - to pay tribute to the work of hospital neo-natal intensive care staff. - to pay tribute to the work of hospital neo-natal intensive care staff. Caring youngsters from the 2nd Rossendale pack in Bacup used pen and paper to communicate during their hour-long meeting and were sponsored to raise money for the baby unit at Burnley General Hospital. They decided to support their work after medics saved the life of Isabella Rose Turner, the daughter of a friend of Beaver leader Janet Hunt. Janet said: “I am delighted at how well the Beavers did. They kept their promise to do their best and they stayed silent the whole time.” The effort by the Burnley Road-based outfit raised £240, which will be split between the hospital unit andpack funds.
