HYNDBURN borough finance chief Joan Smith has reminded residents they can use ‘e-blling’ to pay their council tax.
In September, she launched this free and easy way to settle accounts, including business rates, with the town hall. The process saves everybody time and money.
People can access up-to-date bills within minutes.
Coun Smith said: “We want as many people as possible to sign up for e-billing to cut costs and improve efficiency, as each year it costs the council around £40,000 to send out over 80,000 council tax and business rates bills.
“With e-billing we expect to save 50p each time a person moves from the traditional paper bills to paying e-bills.”
