A RIBBLE Valley pub is to undergo a major refurbishment if plans are approved by the borough council.

The White Bull Hotel, in Gisburn, which was closed to the public last year, could receive new floor finishes, decorations, furniture and lighting if the proposal is passed by councillors at an up-coming planning and development committee meeting.

Owners Star Pubs and Bars have said that all of the fireplaces will remain apart from the one adjacent to the bar. The four letting rooms on the first floor will all be made ensuite.

The Grade II listed pub was established in 1865 and was left as the sole pub in the village after the closure of The New Inn, Ribblesdale Arms and The Commercial.

Local residents have been informed of the plans and have been given until Tuesday, January 28, to register their comments with the borough council.
