THE licensing committee at Ribble Valley Borough Council will hold its latest meeting today.
On the agenda will be whether to ban the issuing of temporary taxi driving licences before applicants have taken the knowledge test.
The proposal would see the end of temporary six-month taxi licences which new drivers are issued with before passing the test.
The knowledge test would also be completed verbally and the limit of the number of attempts in which an applicant can take it wou be removed.
The plans will be debated at the Ribble Valley Borough Council Chambers in Church Street, Clitheroe, from 6.30pm.
