PROMOTERS of the Burnley Fire Station 10km run are already under starter’s orders for the 2014 race this October.
The race, first staged by Station Commander John Whiteman, is now in its 28th year, and will again start, and finish, at the town’s fire station, in Belvedere Road. And this year organisers hope to surpass the £2,000 raised for Pendleside Hospice and the Firefighters Charity last year.
The race is held in conjunction with the Richard Marquis Memorial Trophy, and various prizes will be on offer. Entrants are also sought for the fun run. For more details visit www.fylde running.org.uk or call the station on 01282 423240.
