LEADERS of public service union UNISON have warned of the ‘devastating’ effect of 2,500 job losses at Lancashire County Council on services to local people.
The authority has not yet identified which jobs will go, and which services will be withdrawn.
UNISON members will lobby a full county council meeting, on February 20, at County Hall, in Preston.
Officials are holding a series of meetings with its members across the authority to discuss the impact of the proposed cuts on residents of the 12 boroughs the county provides services to, including Burnley, Ribble Valley, Hyndburn, Pendle, Rossendale, and Chorley.
