HEALTH chiefs are urging smokers who want to quit their addiction ‘not to struggle on their own’.
The Quit Squad at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust runs a number of stop smoking drop-in clinics around East Lancashire, for which people can either book an appointment, or drop in for expert advice.
Julie Trezise, the service manager, said: “People are four times more likely to succeed in stopping smoking with expert help and advice than if they attempt it alone.
“Our sessions are informal and tailored to the individual. People have nothing to lose by contacting us, but a lot to gain.”
