THE search is on to find Lancashire’s Young Citizen of the Year 2013.
Lancashire’s current high sheriff, Ann Dean, pictured, is waiting to hear about all kinds of projects; from those which make local communities safer to those which regenerate deprived areas.
The High Sheriff of Lancashire's Young Citizen of the Year Awards take place every year and involves the high sheriff inviting applications to find a young person aged 21, or younger, who has helped either their local neighbourhood, an individual, family member or local organisation.
Ian Wood, site director at BAE Systems, which is sponsoring the awards, said: “It’s great to be part of this scheme.
“Young people can often be portrayed in a negative way but the fact is, troublemakers are in the minority, and they are far outweighed by the thousands of youngsters who make a valuable contribution to their communities each day.”
Application forms can be completed online at www.lanpac.co.uk
