NORTH West Ambulance Service has launched a new Twitter campaign to show what can happen after a 999 call.
Bosses want patients to realise that ambulances are no longer sent to all incidents, and do not always take patients to the emergency department.
Last year alone, 15 per cent of patients seen by paramedics were treated at home without the need to go to hospital.
The social media campaign, launched under the hashtag #Team999, will introduce patients to all the staff members they could come into contact with.
This will include live Twitter question and answer sessions, roadshows and short films.
