police have noted a drop in ‘high-impact acquisitive crime’ – burglary, robbery, theft of vehicle and theft from vehicle – in Darwen.
In his weekly report, published via the ‘In The Know’ service, watch liaison officer PC Tony Ford said there were just four crimes reported in the town between September 16 and 24, compared with 11 the week before. Darwen was the only town in the police’s eastern division to record a decrease that week. The offences were three thefts from vehicles and one theft of a vehicle. PC Ford said: “The public are the biggest contributors to policing success. Thank you for your care and your efforts.”
