THE achievements of older people will be celebrated in Blackburn with Darwen today.
Events are taking place across the borough to mark Older People’s Day including several activities at council residential homes.
Feniscliffe Bank hosts a prize bingo, while Longshaw and Blakewater Lodge will mark the day with events at Darwen Leisure Centre, including holistic therapy for the over 50’s.
Borough health boss Mohammed Khan said: “It is fantastic that coming together as a community to mark Older People’s Day ensure that people of all ages are able to celebrate the continuing positive input that elder generations have, both in Blackburn with Darwen and nationally.”
