A Coronation Street fan has spotted a big price rise in Roy Cropper’s café leading them to believe “inflation is real”.
A viewer of the ITV soap opera has taken to Twitter to share two pictures of Roy Cropper working at the café with pie, chips and mushy peas written on the board behind him.
In one picture the price for the meal is £2.60 and in the other, the price has risen to £5.50.
The tweet from Coronation Street viewer @GregorSwanson reads: “Inflation is real. Roy Cropper has had to put up the price of Pie, Chips & Mushy Peas by 112% in the last 3 months. #CostOfLivingCrisis @MartinSLewis @Peston @CorrieBlimey #Corrie”

'Inflation is real' as prices rise in Coronation Street cafe
Other Coronation Street viewers replied to Gregor sharing their thoughts on the price increase.
One said: “Very true. Food in the supermarket goes up every time I go nowadays.”
Another tweeted: “I texted my mate when I saw the curry went up!!”
It seemed the price rise was more understandable for some viewers with one replying: ”He may have changed the price in the last 3 months, but the £2.50 price was probably set in 1995.”
Another said: “Surely it was underpriced before?”
A third said: “Still great value though !”
