To Infinity and beyond! Disney and Pixar are returning with a new movie that will create a real buzz.
Pixar has released the trailer for Lightyear, which will be in cinemas in Summer 2022.
‘Lightyear’ tells the story of the original Buzz Lightyear before Toy Story and will be voiced by Captain America star Chris Evans.
The trailer shows Buzz shooting into space to the soundtrack of David Bowie’s Starman and follows his adventure as he becomes the space ranger we all know and love.
Pixar’s chief creative officer Pete Docter said last year: "At first glance, you might think, 'this is a Toy Story film.'
“Well, not so fast! See, back when we created the first Toy Story, we designed Buzz Lightyear with the idea that he was a toy based on some really cool character from an epic blockbuster film.
“Well, all these years later we decided it's time to make that film.”
The movie will be directed by Finding Dory co-director Angus MacLane and be produced by Galyn Susman, who most recently worked on Toy Story 4.
Pixar has also announced it is working on a Cars spinoff series, Win or Lose, which will be released in 2023.
