Regarding potholes in Darwen being a serious problem, no they are not.
They have been a town feature for the last decade along with the old cemetery.
Work in Darwen is imminent, say council chiefs.
Does that mean impending, threatening or hanging over? A far better word would be fettle: to be put in right order.
