In response to a letter (LT August 3) about eating out in expensive restaurants, I have found them to be very overpriced.

I went some time ago to one of these restaurants and decided to order a freshly made pancake with a chocolate and hazelnut filling with cream.

I thought the cost of the pancake, just over £5, was a bit steep but thought I would receive something a bit special because of the type of restaurant I was in.

No such thing: along came a pancake filled with what was very much like a jar of choloate and hazelnut spread in it.

The pouring cream came in a very tiny jug. On another occasion I ordered a bottle of red wine for £12-£14. Lo and behold, I saw the same wine in my local supermarket for approximately £5.

I know you pay for corkage, but I thought, What a rip off.

I myself have decided not to pay these prices because we will just keep getting ripped off.
