I have read with some interest and anger the disgracefully lenient sentence handed out to the person who set fire to a trailer whilst the driver was asleep in the cab (LT August 6).
I hope the judge concerned realises what message has been sent out to these scumbags: a working man’s life is not worth a day in prison.
I sympathise with the police who prosecuted an excellent watertight case.
The driver concerned must feel his life is worthless in the eyes of the law.
The judiciary yet again has given a brainless moron more consideration than the victim.
It is a sad day all round when people can rightly say the police can't protect you and the judiciary won't.
