I agree with A Beckett (Opinion, March 28), especially as Stanhill is an area well served by dog waste bins.
I walk my dog regularly around this area and know of at least four bins with a further three not too far away.
Not so, however, in other areas of Oswaldtwistle.
I can’t condone it but I’m not surprised dog walkers find it too much trouble to dispose of the bags responsibly.
When I served on the now defunct West End Residents Association, a dog bin was requested from the council.
This was promised by council representatives but sadly it hasn't materialised. I also agree there is far too much dog waste on the streets, but I am mystified. I hardly ever see a dog walker that does not clean up the mess.
I don't pretent to know the answers to this problem; policing is not practical. I fear this is going to be with us for a long time.
Arthur Haymes, Blackburn Road, Oswaldtwistle.
