Although the report that Lancashire County Council are to make repairs to potholes longer lasting first appeared in the LT on March 31, I thought it was an April Fool’s Day hoax.
Surely, this should have always been the policy. Unfortunately it wasn’t.
Last year I watched an LCC team fill potholes on my road.
Neither the rubble nor other rubbish was cleared out of the hole and the workmen flattened the new tarmac by treading it down.
Oh, and they left a terrible mess on the road where they had parked their lorry.
Needless to say, the repairs did not survive the winter.
Using the council’s website, I am going to report them. I hope I do not have to repeat the procedure next year.
