WELL done to Blackburn with Darwen Council for leaving our side roads and pavements ungritted.
I asked for just a small amount of grit across the top of the back alley near me. The area was treacherous and was the only way out for me.
I thought of ordering a bag of rock salt and doing the job myself. I rang the council for help and they said they had no money left to do the job. I will have to have money when my council tax is due.
So I invested in a pair of shoes with treads. So to everyone who has been injured by falling on untreated roads and pavements, I wish you a speedy recovery and hope your Christmas won’t be too miserable because of your injuries.
The council should be thoroughly ashamed.
H HAMER, Blackburn.
