SO there are going to be more road changes in the centre of Blackburn (LT, January 14).

The report says furious shop owners claim the move will cripple trade and put visitors off the town.

I hope that before the plans are rubber-stamped, the council will have full consultation with the traders in Blackburn town centre and listen to them.

I am of the opinion that in the past the council just won’t listen to anyone and that’s why more and more people go to other towns to shop.

The council can spend all the money it wants on the new shopping centre but if it does not get it right this time, shoppers won’t come to Blackburn.

So start listening to the people who run businesses in the centre of Blackburn – they know far more about it than you!

We can’t afford another mess- up.

H HAMER, Blackburn.
