Blackburn Marks & Spencer’s could be relocating their store to a three- storey store, to Church Street from King William Street (LT, October 15).
Is this a good idea? In my opinion, during a recession, no.
Every time I visit the store in King William Street I notice it is not crowded out with shoppers.
So how is a new three-story store going to be viable? Is it going to end up as a white elephant?
What we want in Blackburn is a vibrant market selling reasonably-priced goods and attracting tourists.
H HAMER, Blackburn.
