WE are members of the Pleasington Cemetery Action Group, and attended the meeting with the Namm Executive at Pleas-ington Cemetery, as reported in the LT on September 26.
We have read the report and have noted the comments of Councillor Alan Cottam. We were there for the duration of the meeting and find it odd that this councillor did not criticise the Namm Executive face to face. He had every opportunity to make his opinion known.
The action group were able to show the Namm Executive foundations which have been replaced and retained as evidence. These examples were declared to be totally inadequate. Therefore, how can the council blame masons for inadequate foundations which had been installed by their own workforce?
We are delighted that the council proposed that ‘builder style’ repairs are no longer an option.
It will be interesting to learn what the council offers instead.
