WITH regard to the child savaged by the dog (LT, April 28). I was very upset to hear that they have decided to have it put down.
Every dog deserves a second chance, and it is up to the owners to keep them under control. If they offend a second time then well and good.
I have a dog that doesn't like children, but I always tell them not to touch it. You cannot be too careful with children around.
