THE proposed closure of the maternity department at the Royal Blackburn Hospital, is the worst decision yet for the Labour Government.
It has been decided to move the department to Burnley leaving a small birthing house in Blackburn. Mothers in labour will be have to travel to Burnley.
Will the Labour government accept responsibility for the deaths of both mother or child?
The people of Blackburn have not been given a choice. My daughter gave birth to her son on Saturday, we arrived at Royal Blackburn Hospital at 7.30, my grandson was born at 8.05.
Last year I lost a grandchild, although this baby wasn't born in Blackburn, the distress was still heartbreaking.
Please help me to fight to keep central delivery suite where it belongs, at the Royal Blackburn hospital.
