IT is absolutely appalling that dogs should be now kept on a lead at all times. Does Coun Hollern realise what this will mean? Dogs need exercise, meaning they need a good run off a lead! I have two Cavalier King Charles spaniels and they are very good off the lead. They are very obedient and will always come back when I call them.

They love to run around on the public fields and in local woods. The woodland areas and unused fields are a public right of way for dog owners and their dogs. There is no law that can stop us using these areas. I think the RSPCA will also have something to say about it.

Dogs foul when they are on a lead too, so how can the council say that keeping dogs on a lead will tackle the dog fouling problem?

I would like to know what the council are going to do about cats fouling in public places, including people’s gardens. Cat owners should also be fined for this.

Any dangerous out of control dogs should be dealt with, and the owners fined.
