YOU quote that the ‘majority of pupils will be walking, due to the ‘walk to school scheme’.

This I can say is not really the case. With already four schools in the locality – Shear Bank Road, Eldon Road, Wellington Street St John’s and Clarence Street – already causing traffic problems in a small residential area, how can they say that it will have no impact on traffic and influx?

Residents were in informed that Eldon Road would cause no further increase, whereas on weekday evenings it’s choc-a-block with cars, and in Shear Bank and even on Clarence Street now.

So how do they expect things will change? And again, if there are four places now, why do we need another one in the area?

It appears segregation is rearing its ugly head, creating an area of schools for one set of people and another school for another.

Just an observation for those who pass these plans but do not live there.
