IN response to the letter about parking fines imposed on people who have the audacity to spend more than an hour shopping in Aldi’s Ramsbottom store, I also got fined and I was very angry.

I sent an email to the managing director suggesting they fall in line with other supermarkets in the area or lose custom, as it appeared they were persecuting people who wanted to take their time, browse and spend their money in Aldi’s store.

I also said I had no intention of paying a fine for shopping there.

My letter was forwarded to the parking management department, which replied that if I could prove by receipt or bank statement that I was actually shopping, then they would cancel the ticket.

This they did, but if everyone who gets a ticket refuses to pay and writes to the MD, then maybe something will be done about it.

The address for anyone who wants it is either customer.services@aldi.co.uk, or Managing Director, Aldi Stores (Head Office) Ltd, Aldi Ltd. Holly Lane, Atherstone, Warwickshire, CV9 2SQ.

Linda Henry.
