IN response to ‘Hyndburn council boss urges volunteers to take over community facilities’, yet again there is a call for volunteers and I am getting rather fed up.
For example, volunteers are being called for and indeed used to keep our countryside footpaths, parks, and now canals open.
It is a bit of a double whammy really.
Highly-paid people head up councils and other organisations and then they expect us to give our labour and time for free for something we have already paid our taxes for to have done.
