REGARDING the story about police taking more than 120 litres of booze from under-age drinkers in Burnley in one night (LT, June 3), I’m wondering why it is up to the police to do something about it.
This is about parental control and responsibility, not policing.
If I had behaved like these kids are doing, my parents would have bounced me all over the county.
As it is, they brought me up to respect alcohol and to enjoy it sensibly.
The police never had a hand in it.
The sooner that parents are made responsible for their spawns’ actions, the better.
