Darwen needs a new food supermarket like it needs a tsunami (LT, February 1).
Lucite International seeks to selfishly fund its own research facility at the cost of small traders and the existing excellent stores.
The plan for Market Street will in fact dissuade those who live on the Blackburn side of the proposed store from entering the town centre. If there must be a superstore on the site, then please let it be a clothing and footwear one such as an M&S Outlet or some other big name.
We have a plethora of charity shops and, although they provide an excellent service, we don't all want to wear someone else’s cast-offs.
