I AM the lifelong Blackburn Rovers fan who you reported is to trek tp Peru in memory of former Rovers forward Chris Thompson (LT, January 14).
Ever since I was a kid, I’ve wanted to go to South America because I was deeply fascinated by it.
That has carried on into my adult life.
I wanted to challenge myself and even though I’d much rather have self- funded the trip, I simply could not afford it.
I wasn’t even able to pay monthly as I have very little disposable income.
So the fundraising idea represented a much better option for me and my personal circumstances. For the sake of clarity, if I raise the minimum target of £3,625, 60 per cent will go to the mental health charity MIND as funds raised, and 40 per cent will pay back the trip.
