I AM from Darwen and I am a member of the Royal British Legion.
I am writing in reply to a letter (LT, November 21) about poppy wreaths being carried the wrong way round and thus insulting the deceased service personnel.
It is the way the wreath is made. The handgrip is on the back inside with the poppies, facing inside towards the body.
I am sure no insult was intended. I am a veteran of 91 years, from the Second World War and an ex-poppy organiser.
R F Westhead (Mr), Darwen
