MORECAMBE'S Midland Hotel says this year's Seafood Festival will be the "biggest and best yet".
More than 3,000 visitors flocked to the coastal town to taste locally caught delicacies last year, and 2018 marks the festival's third outing on the weekend of July 7 and 8.
The seafront hotel's iconic Sun Terrace will once again be the focal point, with free entry from 11am on the Sunday, a seafood and farmers' market, and a variety of food prep demonstrations.
Among the attractions will be a Pimm's and cream tea bar, Laurent Perrier champagne and oyster bar, an artisan gin bar featuring the Midland’s own label, Seahorse No.10, and live entertainment from The Steven Wren Quartet adding to the festive atmosphere.
Saturday night will see a relaxed summer seafood barbecue and live entertainment from Keith Mitchell and five-piece band Vixie (tickets £25 from 01524-428370).
The Midland Hotel's general manager, Mark Needham, said: "Last year’s guest numbers comfortably outstripped our inaugural year in 2016 and the signs are that visitor numbers will be higher again for this event in our 10th anniversary year.”
Festival visitors can also enjoy afternoon tea sittings, with a seafood amuse-bouche added to the traditional menu.
