A COUPLE tied the knot in true rockabilly-style – complete with tattoos, motorbikes and a classic car.

Julia Ward and Duncan Lomax, from Rishton, are members of the Harley Davidson 17 gang of motorcycle enthusiasts.

Bejewelled and decked in tattoos, polka dots and leather, guests buzzed with excitement as the pair, known fondly as ‘Duncan disorderly’, tied the knot at Clitheroe Register Office in Pimlico Road.

Friend of the pair, Andy Hartley, who travelled from Lincoln for the wedding, said the couple are not what he would call ‘run of the mill’.

He said: “They both ride Harley’s, which not all women do.

“You have a great laugh with them both. And you won’t have a quiet evening if they’re about, that’s for sure.

“I’ve known them both five years and they’re pretty well matched. Like a pair of firecrackers.”

The rock ‘n’ roll bride wore a calf-length leopard print dress, a sleeveless red jacket, towering red heels and a large crimson flower in her jet black hair. Her groom wore a rose pinned to the front pocket of his vibrant blue shirt with the word ‘lucky’ and a pair of dice on the reverse, slacks, and a shaved head.

They were driven from the register office in a classic purple 1936 Rolls Royce, dressed in white ribbon, to Sale Rugby Club in Greater Manchester, for a rockabilly reception.
