Oswaldtwistle Moor wind farm approved by councillors

TWELVE 120-metre high turbines are to be built on Oswaldtwistle Moor after councillors approved the controversial plans.

The turbines will be built on land between Haslingden Old Road and the Elton Road section of the Grane Road.

Although Hyndburn Council leader Peter Britcliffe moved for the wind farm to be refused, councillors instead voted to approve it by 13 to eight. Earlier, a dozen councillors had been forced to leave the council chamber because of their involvement with Hyndburn environmental charity Prospects.

Under councillor guidelines, they were forced to declare an interest as the charity stands to gain around £5million over the 25-year life of the wind farm, due to a community fund pledged by the developers, combined with potential match funding.

At the meeting planning officers said they had received 397 letters of support, and 136 letters of objection. Speaking at the meeting, objector and Oswaldtwistle resident Dr Marjorie Bowker, said: “I am a scientist and, though wind farms are popular, they are incredibly inefficient and do not work most of the time.”

Despite Britcliffes best efforts , common sense prevailed. The NIMBYs whose votes he was trying to covet came up with two of the lamest excuses I have ever heard, and I spent 10 years on the council planning committee. The first reason was the turbines would be a distraction to traffic because they were the height of Blackpool Tower. Either the tower has shrunk in half or the objectors goggles are making things twice as big. I suppose we should pull Blackpool Tower down then using that logic. Why stop there ? the Angel of the North and Nelsons Column must be more dangerous. The other objection was that vibrations might somehow release a radioactive holocaust that will wipe out life as we know it in Hyndburn. I checked with the Environment Agency. The waste is buried so deep and encased in so much concrete that it has not budged a millimetre in sixty years. The uranium is deeper now than when it was mined from the ground in the first place. To put it in context, it is 10 times more protected than Saddam Husseins bunker which withstood direct hits from 14 cruise missiles. The amazing thing is that 8 Conservative Councillors actually went along with the objectors !

Yet another page full of sanctmonious waffle from the EX councillor. If ever the wind drops at least there an alternative source on hand.....

The great green con strikes again, however prospects stands to gain £5million. could this be seen as a bribe? I have yet to see any of these so called green energy initiatives actually deliver as promised. I know they will cost a lot more. Mind you it does not take much to baffle the self important local councilors. they probably think they have saved the planet.
common sense has not prvailed in this case. proper debate on any green issues in this country is positively discouraged. only now their lies are coming to the surface.

When this radioactive waste was dumped, it was contained in normal steel drums and walked in by men wearing white overalls, this I was reliably informed of by a member of the community who recalls watching this activity taking place, this waste is not encased in concrete, as we too have contacted the environment agency who cannot confirm how it has been dumped. But never mind the mines run as far as Accrington, therefore when it does leak, that is where the effect will be felt no doubt.

This planning approval was passed due to apathy. Take note none of these windfarms will be built in places like Cheshire where monied people live, as a comment in a recent newspaper article suggested these companies are advised to build them in this area, as people are apathetic and will do nothing to prevent them.

Unsightly, inefficient eyesore spoiling a beautiful part of the world. Great! Do we really need more electricity? Are we not managing as we are? They could harness the power of the sea, a more constant supply of energy than the wind, if they wanted but they want a quick fix instead. Stupid, stupid, stupid, just like those who support it.

From the information I have studied these wind farms indeed are not cost effective, they cost more in energy requirement to operate than they rescind in electricity.
.
There is the shadow flicker to take into consideration also, but by far the most startling information I have looked into, would be their positioning.
.
In studying the ley lines across Britain, it is looking more and more like these monsters are effecting the ley line grid, effecting in a way which then effects the people within the ley lines area in a very negative way.
.
There was once a stone circle on the Ossy moor, so we can grasp the fact we have ley lines around there, so the above information is not 'out there'.
.
The proof is in the podding, we shall have to see if our energy resonance changes when they are up and running
