A MAN was found with a broken leg and hand injuries in a street.

The 64-year-old was found at around 10.30pm on Thursday, March 22, on the floor at the junction of Thwaites Road and Stanhill Lane in Oswaldtwistle.

Within a police appeal released yesterday, a police spokesman said it was unclear if the man had collapsed or had been hit by a car.

A passer-by found him and called an ambulance.

The man was treated for a broken leg and injuries to his hands.

PC Mick Higginson, of the Road Policing Unit, said anyone who saw the man walking down the road at the time before he was found to get in touch.

He said: "It’s unclear exactly what has happened to this man.

"We are appealing for information so we can piece together the circumstances of this incident which has left him with some serious injuries.

"Anyone with information should call police on 101 quoting log number 0813 of March 23rd."
