A 14-YEAR-OLD girl was found hiding under a bed at the home of a 22-year-old man just weeks after he had been made subject to a restraining order prohibiting him from having any contact with her.

Blackburn magistrates heard the girl had turned up at his address and pestered Mark Owen to let her in.

But the magistrates told Owen he was the on subject to the restraining order.

"Whatever your relationship with this girl it has to end," said the chairman.

Owen, of Edlestone Street, Oswaldtwistle, pleaded guilty to taking a 14-year-old girl out of the lawful control of her parent or guardian.

He was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison suspended for two years and ordered to pay £115 victim surcharge.

Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said the restraining order was imposed on April 24 and the breach was committed on May 6.

"The girl had been reported missing from home previously and found to be associating with the defendant," said Miss Allan.

"The girl may well be complicit but he knows he is not to have any contact with her."

On May 6 the girl was again reported missing from home and police went to the defendant's home.

He opened the door wearing just a pair of shorts and denied she was present.

"He said he hadn't seen her but police found her hiding under the bed wearing pyjamas," said Miss Allan.

"She said she hadn't engaged in any sexual activity on that occasion."

Jonathan Taylor, defending, said the girl had turned up at his client's house late at night.

She said she had no money to get home and said she was going to stay there.

"She was causing more and more of a scene and he eventually let her come in," said Mr Taylor.

"He tried to explain the seriousness of the position she was putting him in but she point blank refused to leave.

"He is adamant there is no sexual relationship between them,"
