Watch manager Lee Cook said that the vehicle was well alight upon the first crew's initial arrival. He later requested a second appliance to attend the blaze, because of low water supplies.
Mr Cook confirmed that the matter had been reported to Lancashire Police for investigation, as the fire is thought to have been set deliberately.
