COUNCIL bosses have praised a new £500,0000 sports facility created for a local football team.
Great Harwood Rovers Football Club recently announced they will be playing matches at their new ground just off Harwood Lane starting in January.
This is part of phase one of their new ground project, which has seen four new FA and Sport England standard pitches and a car parking area installed.
Phase two will see the construction of new changing facilities, expected to be constructed next year.
Cllr Parkinson, said it is great new for the area the new facilities will be available.
He said: “This is a superb new sports facility for Great Harwood.
"As part of the planning gain from the new Lyndon Park housing development, Great Harwood Rovers Football Club have moved to new football pitches just off Harwood Lane, with over half a million pounds being invested in new facilities there."
