The licence holder, Loco Bars Ltd, wants to change its licence to extend the time it can serve alcohol from 3am on Fridays and Saturdays until 4am.

It also wants to stay open until 4.30am from Monday to Sunday, play music and films, and put on plays and indoor sporting events until 4am from Monday to Sunday.

Documents lodged with the council show the bar will hire three bouncers to work from 10pm until 30 minutes after closing every Friday and Saturday, Sunday preceding anda bank holiday, on bank holidays, and on Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

Anybody who looks to be under 21 would be asked to prove their age, a zero tolerance policy on drugs would be enforced, and CCTV cameras would be in use.

Environmental health has objected, citing ‘numerous complaints of noise’ from ‘excessively loud music on a regular basis’, witnesses twice by council officers and resulting in abatement notices.
