THE family of a four-year-old boy who is in remission from liver cancer are celebrating a successful first check-up.
Charlie Procter, from Church, had surgery at Birmingham Children’s Hospital seven weeks ago to remove liver tumours.
Charlie has recently had a check-up at the hospital and family met the surgeons.
Doctors also removed plasters from his liver, which they said was looking well.
His mum Amber Schofield, 23, said: “Charlie is doing amazing, he’s full of life.
“His beautiful blond hair is growing back nicely and he’s putting on the pounds.
“He’s very proud of his scar and even shows it off saying it’s there because he’s got big muscles.”
The youngster had previously been given just a 20 per cent chance of survival by doctors.
The family raised money to take Charlie to America for surgery on his lungs not available in this country.
