A MUM received a high rise surprise while on holiday in the United States.
Belthorn woman Wendy Edwards, 64, was enjoying a skiing holiday in Utah on Mother’s Day but the occasion isn’t celebrated until May in the States.
However her sons Kurt, 28, and Ross Edwards, 37, were determined she would get a message with a difference.
The two contacted staff at her resort in Park City Utah with a request for staff to hold up a special message ready at the top of the resort’s ski lift.
Staff set up the surprise so that when Wendy went through the barrier, her ticket was ‘rejected’.
This triggered a pre-arranged call to the top of the mountain to tell waiting staff Wendy’s chair number.
The complicated plan worked and Wendy saw a special message from her sons as she reached the top.
She said: “When we got there, the manager was there along with a photographer to take my picture.
He'd patiently been waiting for hours for me to show up.
“It was absolutely wonderful and the best Mother’s Day ever. My sons are so creative and we are so grateful to the resort for going the extra mile with their great customer service.”
